Sending AP scores

I was wondering...If I put on the AP test this year to send scores to my college, do they send the old scores too?

anybody? =[ hehe

Yes, as long as you used the exact same name this year as in past years. The score report is cumulative. Hope this helps!

thanks a lot

Yeah. If I may add, it's pretty much the same as SAT I/II score reports (except you only get 1 free report to 1 college instead of 4). Otherwise, it's cumulative as long as your identification info is the same ;)

haha, I didn't send any...I know they say APs aren't held against you, but I still think bad APs leave a negative impression...however, now i sort of wish i had sent them; I think i did pretty well, overall.

I don't even have a clue which college I want to go to.

BTW, just wondering: Can you send your AP Scores to any random college or do you have to first tell that college you're going to send it to them?

If you are not a senior and you're not sure about which college you plan to attend (let alone which college you'll be sending your scores to) - DON'T SWEAT THIS PART YET! You have until senior year to know your college. Some people just happen to know earlier, but it's in no way an advantage to send scores your sophomore or junior year at all. Heck, sophomore and junior years I sent all my AP scores to Harvard, but I'll be going to Princeton in the fall (so for this year's APs, I designated Princeton as the school to receive them).

You don't have to tell them first. As long as you're applying to that school sometime in your high school career (for frsh, soph., and jrs.) or have applied to that school (srs.) then the scores will become a part of that application. IN FACT, students report AP scores themselves on college applications. The official College Board score reports are used for credit and/or placement once students have been admitted. Thus, your own self-reported scores are considered in college admissions and the offical scores are considered only if you've been admitted. You have the freedom to include those AP exams and scores which you feel comfortable putting down (and you can strategically leave off your weaker scores). When they find out about actual scores as they consider your credit/placament (provided you haven't lied in your self-report) then you're fine!

So SEND away (but you should really hold off until senior year).

.....My 2 cents ;)
