Many colleges provide space for AP scores on their applications, just like they do for the SAT. Do they also want me to send my AP scores from the collegeboard like they do for the SAT? Does it help/is required?

Don't worry about sending AP scores now, they're usually only necessary to send when you actually end up matriculating to the college in question, thus you can be a bit selective about the grades you share.

They do NOT want you to send AP scores. The reason: AP score reports cost $15 each and colleges don't expect you to pay so much.

that's a relief...that's in fact the reason I asked, MallomarCookie, because I went to the CB website and realized how much it'd cost if I multiplied the $15 times the number of colleges that I'm applying to (which is probably too many as it is)

thanks
