I sent a score report from collegeboard to the UC schools I'm applying to and Stanford. But on the score report I didnt see my AP scores (which I'd prefer not to send, as I only passed one out of 4). Is this something I have to do separately? Is there a way I can send only the one I passed?

If you send the AP score report, all AP scores will be on there. The AP scores will not be sent at all unless you send a report specifically for the AP exams. You are not required to send the AP scores at any time, certainly not at the time of application. If you wish to be considered for advanced standing or credit after you have enrolled, you can send the report at that time.

Arklogic,
AP grades are not included on SAT score reports. Check with your target schools to see if they require AP scores. Sending AP grades differs from sending SATs in that it IS possible to withhold grades. There is a fee for each grade withheld in addition to the base charge of sending an AP grade report.
AP: Grade Reporting Services

MD Mom, I though AP scores could only be withheld if the decision is made very shortly after taking the AP exam:

from the link in the post above this one:
[quote]
You may have one or more grades withheld from the report sent to the college you indicated on your answer sheet. To have a grade withheld from the indicated college, AP Services must receive your written, signed request by June 15 accompanied by a $10 fee per grade, per college. If your request is not received by June 15, the grade is automatically sent to the college indicated on your answer sheet.

Do you know of someone who was able to withhold a score when sending a score report at a later date?

Well, I have already put on the UC application (which i submitted) that i got a 3 on the APUSH exam. Am i required to send this AP score report?

Midmo,
I think the part you quoted applies when students request score reports at test time. My daughter didn't indicate any schools on her answer sheet when she took her tests sophmore and junior year. When she had scores sent to her schools last month she was able to withhold one score when she sent reports. FWIW I don't know if it's worth the hassle and expense since AP scores are typically a factor in placement/credit rather than admission. Many students don't send them before admissions decisions but wait to send a cumulative report after they take exams at the end of senior year.

Typically, does one send the AP score report with the application?

I don't think it's typical exactly. Some high schools include AP scores on transcripts but many do not (my daughter's school doesn't.) Sending them after senior year exams is probably just fine.

Another question (sorry), but would doing well on a large number of APs before senior year affect admissions at all? I know that APs are "for placement" and only the rigor of the course would be considered, but what if it was truly an accomplishment in sheer interest and time alone?

It's hard to know for sure. It probably varies from school to school as well. I think that if you have great scores on lots of AP tests it certainly wouldn't hurt your chances to send them (That was my d's thinking.) I think mentioning any AP awards AP: Scholar Awards might get the same point across though.

bump: my question is since i have already submitted the UC app stating i got a 3 in APUSH, do i now have to send the AP score report? Like as proof

Not for UC. You send AP scores to UCs later when you decide to attend one.
