So I've applied to Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, and Duke. Do I need to send my AP scores officially to them? Or will just self-reporting them do?

Unless they specify clearly and specifically, you can just self-report the scores. You send in the official reports only after you decide to matriculate and would like college credit for your AP courses.

What you do is you self-report on the Common App or their supplement. Once you have been admitted into a college you then pay Collegeboard to send the AP scores to that school. Basically AP is separate from SAT.
