Sending Application early an advantage?

I am wondering if sending your application well before deadline will improve your chances (because it shows your not a procrastinator?) and if it will hurt if you post mark it on the day of or couple days before deadline. Thanks in advance

It depends on the college. I heard from some people they read it in the order they receive the applications, and I heard from others that it doesn't matter and I read that almost half the applications are received on the deadline date. I would really like to know too!!

My take: sending early is important for colleges with rolling admissiions (eg. U Michigan) because, obviously, they have more spaces available early rather than late; if you apply near deadline you are in a large pool of people with high stats competing for limited spaces. For all the rest, so long as you meet deadlines there is no advantage to being early and no bonus for not being a procrastinator.
