I took both the SAT and ACT, and while I got a pretty good SAT score, my ACT was better (by a very small margin) and was generally higher in the average scores (think upper 25th percentile, instead of middle for my SAT). I’ve already sent my ACT score to colleges, but now I’m wondering…should I send my SAT too? I don’t think it would hurt me, since it is pretty good and in the averages of all my schools, but would it be worth it?
I’m just concerned because I see so many people on here sending both scores, even when they’re really close. I know it wouldn’t hurt me, but would it be worth it? Would it hurt me if colleges only have my ACT score, and not my SAT?
It wont hurt you if you only send one test. If your ACT is way better than your SAT, you could only send one to save money. If the two scores are kind of close you probably should send both.
When you convert it, my SAT shows up at 20-30 points lower than my ACT (on the SAT 2400 scale)…I’m thinking I’ll probably send both to my top few schools, but save the money on the rest.
