I'm planning to take the ACTs this weekend because my past attempts at taking the SAT haven't been too great. However, should I still send my SAT scores along with my upcoming ACT scores to colleges?

I guess what I'm wondering is: if I do much better on my ACTs, will colleges frown upon me because of my low SAT score that they'll also be receiving/seeing?

Have you sent SAT scores already? Otherwise, I don’t understand the question. If your ACT turns out much better than your SAT, why would you send the SAT at all?

No, I haven’t sent my SAT scores yet. The thing is, I havent taken my ACTs yet so I don’t know how well I’m going to do. If I wait until my ACT scores come out before I send my SAT scores (assuming I did worse on my ACTs), it will be mid to late December, and I don’t want to risk sending it to colleges late.

So my question is, should I just go ahead and send my SAT scores now anyway? Thanks [:

Unless you’re applying to dozens of schools, I think you should really ask your colleges whether you’ll have enough time to see tout ACT before you decide what score to send. They’ll have some experience with this question. See whether you can find an email or phone # for somebody who handles applications from the area where you live. This is a legit question that gives you a chance to interact with the people who will actually be making the decisions.

Thanks. I’m applying to a couple of schools so contacting each school may be a bit difficult, but I’ll keep it in mind.

does anyone else have an idea/suggestion?

I had the same problem before. I think it depends on the colleges you’re applying to? In my case, the college rep told me that I have to send in all scores; I can’t simply “hide” a bad score. In return, they will only consider my best score.
