Sending Community College Transcripts!

Hello Everyone,

I am a high senior currently applying to college. In the past, I’ve taken one course at the local community college for personal enjoyment, not for credit for any class. I do not intend on using this course as any credit in college, etc.

Do I still need to send my transcript at the community college to the colleges I am applying to?

Thanks!

Yes!!

No you don’t… Ask your counselor if needed.

For any college that requires transcripts on frosh application, you need to send transcripts from all high schools and colleges attended.

For any college that requires a self-reported academic record on frosh application, you need to include information on courses at all high schools and colleges attended.

Hmm… I stand corrected then. My son took an AP stats class 3 week accelerated at Northwestern. He took this not for credit but just because. No school wanted the transcript that he applied to. Maybe I am not understanding.

@Knowsstuff - If the course is college-credit bearing, then yes, you absolutely do need to provide the transcript. If the course is non-credit-bearing then no, you don’t need to send the transcript. Most courses offered in the continuing education division of a college/university fall into the latter category. I expect that this 3 week intensive AP course was a non-credit class.

Early college student. My counselor advised me not to send a transcript unless they specifically ask for it. Mostly because it costs an unreasonable amount of money to send.
