Sending Extra Materials Now?

Hey CC-ers
I know that admcoms aren't so friendly with extra materials sent after admissions deadline, and especially now, being only 2~3 weeks from final decision.

But one of the works I have done was featured in the United States Senate Cong. Hearing yesterday by a Senator. Though it's not much of an accomplishment, I thought that it would highlight my dedication and interest for politics/int' relations.

I've applied to Yale, Stanford, UPENN, and Cornell.
I'm definitely sending it to Yale.
But I wonder if other places would be so comfortable with extra materials at this present moment.

I would appreciate any of your thoughts. Thx!

They may not treat it at Yale. They will likely throw it out at Stanford. Those are the only two I know about.

I'd call and ask them, I think that's pretty cool to say something was used by a senator!

I would suggest that you'll scan it (or an electronic format of the final version) and send it via email, in the email you should explain why do you feel that it is an important material for the admissions committee. Since it's a new development, I would send it to all of the schools; it can't hurt.

thx for your replies guys.
Stanford's undergrad office is truly an enigma...it keeps connecting me to weird departments..anyhow..amitalon, I will take your advice.
I'm just so sick and tired of waiting/anticipating for colleges.
I just wanna get over with it and get back and focus on my work.
Argh.

i wouldn't send it. yale and stanford both say that supplemental material sent after the deadline can hurt hte applicant (did you get the dean's email?) it's up to you of course.

stats?
