I know Stanford strongly discourages it, but have any of you sent in extra stuff? I was thinking about sending a 3 pg activity list, and perhaps 2-3 research abstracts on a few projects I've done. I have already submitted one extra recommendation letter.

i wouldn't recommend it.

I think the adcoms would cry if you sent in a 3 pg activity list.

I don't think it would be too beneficial unless it were something very significant

Why is Stanford like that? Harvard gladly reads activity lists, and even papers. Acing the College Application seems to think most colleges are like Harvard in that manner.

The reason why they discourage them is because they read every single thing.

Thus they would not get mad at you, unless maybe you sent them 10 pages of stuff and a photo album, but they would be mad at the fact that their pile of paperwork is bigger.

I read somewhere that Harvard spends at least 30 minutes reading even the least qualified application, because they have the $$ to hire people to do so.

Ohhh does Stanford not do 30 mins per application?? I thought all top schools did....
