I know you can send info. to 10+ colleges by making a correction, but can I do that right away or do I need to wait until it is processed?
Also, should I send the FAFSA to colleges, even if I have not heard back about admission?
Thank you!

Yes, send the FAFSA to the colleges you’ve applied to before their financial aid deadline.

thanks - do you know about applying to 10+??

Apply to your first ten. Submit and print your confirmation page. Then wait a couple of days – they will first email saying your FAFSA has been processed followed by a second email saying your SAR is ready to review and print. Once you do this, then go back to your submitted FAFSA and “correct” as follows: delete the first 10 colleges and enter the next batch of colleges. Redo the process: submit, print confirmation and wait for the email saying your SAR is ready.

In essence, you will have two batches with the same financial info to submit. You just have to make sure both batches are processed.

If you need to make corrections after your tax return is completed, then you will have to go back in, again in two batches, make the corrections for each batch, reenter all your colleges for each batch, wait again for your two SARs.

It’s very important to make sure your SAR is available before you delete any colleges…

If anyone else has additional tips and/or different instructions, please chime in. :)
