I heard that there are only a certain number of spots available to put colleges to receive the FAFSA. I think it is four? I'm not sure.

But anyway, I'm applying to more than four schools. Could anyone teach me how to get the FAFSA sent to everyone? Please be clear with your instructions because I'm pretty much completely new and lost to this financial aid business! Thanks in advance!

It has not really been clear, in the past, whether schools could see other schools to which you were sending FAFSA information. Some people said no, including FAFSA folks, when I asked them, and some folks said yes, including people who work in financial aid offices. I believe you can include 10 schools, and the advice we were given two years ago, was to list them in alphabetical order.

You send the FAFSA to the first 10. Wait for the SAR, which is the report they send you back. That comes either right away or after a couple of days. I don't remember which. Then you go back into it, and you delete the first group of schools, and you enter the names and info for the second group. It feels scary, because it feels as though you are deleting the schools permanently. But you are not. You are just making what they call a second transaction. My recommendation is to delete all 10 out of the first group and then enter the next group, so that you remember which went with which transaction.
