Sending grades to Emory/Oxford? Is it bad to apply to both?

Two questions.

First:
I am applying regular decision to Oxford College, but I am now also considering applying to Emory. My school report + grades have already been sent to Oxford, but not Emory. My GC refuses to send info out to anymore schools at this point in the college process, so is it possible that Oxford can send my grades/report to Emory College? I would like to apply to both schools, ideally.

Second:
If i apply to both, does this look bad? Could it reflect a lack of interest in either school? For instance, might an Oxford admissions officer assume that I'm only applying to get into Emory and that I'm not actually interested?

I don’t think you’ll need to send more info out, since Oxford and the College of Arts and Sciences share those common items. Admissions decisions are made independently, however, so it’s not bad to apply to both. Some students are admitted to both; admitted to Oxford but not to Emory College of Arts and Sciences; admitted to Emory College but not to Oxford; and some denied to both.

bump

either way, you would be referred to oxford if you did not make the cut for emory (and if they thought you also stood a chance for oxford) so It shouldn’t be a big deal
