Hi, there. First post for me.

I'm wondering if any of you guys sent in a video for your application supplement. I guess its a similar kind of thing to a music CD and a portfolio.

totally just watched legally blonde last night.

and i know plenty of people who submitted their art/music on a disc.

i mean you cant just like send in a mini-video on yourself. if its like a film you did or a music performance or athletic then its fine

what if its like a video of generally wat you've done and little parts of movies or animations you've made. The whole thing wouldn't be more than 5minutes long.

it just sounds kind of gimmicky to me but theres no reason you should listen to me. i know just as much about any of this as you do

I'm sending in a video of my basketball footage - not in the actual application, but rather directly to the Mens Head Coach.

With regard to sending in a video that is simply a supplement to the application, much like a resume, I strongly discourage it. I was actually planning to do a similar thing, but I sent an e-mail to both Stanford and MIT at the time, and they both bluntly say 'No'. I would imagine that Harvard has a similar stance on this.
