Should I include a research statement in the resume portion, the additional information section of the common app, or send it in through email to their undergraduate admissions email? Or, are none of these appropriate?

To the best of my knowledge, a research statement is neither required nor permitted as an element of an undergraduate admissions application (I just re-checked this on the Undergraduate Admissions’ website). Could you please provide a reference that indicates that one should be submitted with your application.
@TopTier I cannot recall where I read this, but I do know that somewhere I found that Duke permitted a research statement at some point in the past and was inquiring whether it would still be possible to submit one. When applying to universities, my sister submitted a research statement. Those are my sources, however incredible they may be. Thanks for the input though!
I put an abstract in the additional info section and I didn’t get rejected, so i’m assuming it was ok
Thanks!
My kid included his in the additional info section (very end of the supplement). He had checked with the local admissions rep on how best to submit and this is what he was told. Include a cover letter explaining the research vs. just the paper and upload as pdf. Best of luck
Thank you!!
I have a similar question about publishing research. I want to publish biology research to boost my resume so what format should I use? how long and is there a specific topic that will help me get into duke?
My kid was affiliated with a university professor when the research was conducted (independent study thing), so it got published via those channels.
In most cases, they ask for your research supervisor to also submit a recommendation letter or something … so, check along those lines.
