My son just received a state wide music honor. He'd like to add this to his application which went out before he found out about it. What would be the best way to do this (assuming it is appropriate)? Would it be appropriate to fax (email?) a letter explaining about this and asking that the letter be added to the file. Will it be noticed if it is not included in the listing of awards on the application itself?

He can definitely send the update, either by email or by postal mail. My personal preference is for postal mail, because admissions officers have to print off emails they receive to put them in the applicant's file, and I worry that emails sometimes fall through the cracks. The admissons office's address is at the bottom of their webpage.

His readers will absolutely read both the list of awards in his application and his update.
