Sending in Additional Supplements?

Hello,

I am thinking of majoring in communications/journalism and I really want to attach clips of newspapers which I have been publishing for 2 years. This is an online newspaper so I would have to send in my files in pdf format.

Do you think colleges would accept my sending in these clips? Or do you think I should rather not send them in because they are too much? I really want to visually show what I've done instead of just mentioning that I was the editor of a newspaper which I have created by myself. By any chance, am I allowed to submit files in pdf format?

Thank you.

Some Common App schools invite you to upload an additional document (up to 500 kb in size, I believe), but wouldn’t it make more sense simply to send them a link to the online newspaper?

Am I allowed to post links to my newspaper? Where can I do that on commonapp?

Yes, I know that applicants provide links to online videos, portfolios, etc.

But, no, I’m not sure exactly how or where they post the links . . . and I’d like to know that myself!

You can note the link in Addl Info. But adcoms may or may not follow links. And, you have to be careful that your work is solid- the sort an adcom would recognize.

Ime, portfolios may only go to the art dept if you are applying as an art major. Make the decision you are comfortable with.
