Hi there,

I was just wondering should you send in AP scores (officially) while applying? Or do you wait and see where you get accepted before you send those in. I now there's a spot in the Common App for them, but should I still send them in through college board?

Thanks!

Hey, I sent an email to Columbia to ask the same thing. Copy-and-pasting their answer:

Thank you for your interest in Columbia University!

AP scores do not have to be sent directly from the College Board to be deemed official. The scores can be reported by your guidance counselor or appear on your transcript as well, and we will take those into account.

Only if you have matriculated at Columbia and you wish to use an AP score of a 4 or 5 to receive college credit will the official scores be needed.

Best wishes,
