Again, I appreciate any feedback regarding my chances SCEA at Yale! THANKS!!

dude ur ECs are great. how the hell can i get mine up to your par?

yeah my stats are a lot like yours i have a 3.93 unweighted, 33 ACT, and my EC's are as impressive as yours. I feel like we both have a good shot because these ivy leagues are more interested in students these days with superior EC's. The one thing I can tell you about SCEA at Yale that i have heard is the entire applicant pool will have stats like our's and there are NO weak applicants. They also do not wait-list many students making it your only chance at being accepted.

wow thats a scary thought, something that makes me reconsider applying early to yale

Looking at your stats I feel like backing out too.

what do you think guys? Should I even bother?

Have other ECs in school newspapaer, clubs etc.

Why do people hijack others' chance threads? It's very rude.

yea i know can we focus on this for the netx half a week before i submit it

First person is "the win" at Yale...but why even bother applying there, seriously...

There are better schools, for damn sure.

yea i guess...
so is "the win" a good shot or no?

buuuuuumpppppppp

any others last mintue chances?

what exactly stands out in his laundry list of extracurricular activities if i may inquire?

I agree you have as good chances at Yale as any other highly qualified candidate, the one thing I would be worried about is that while your EC's are great, some of them were joinied recently/quit recently (referring to the sports, debate, etc). Other than that your pretty strong

Whats worrysome about Yale, (and Stanford for that matter, my #1) is that Princeton and Harvard got rid of early decision. Therefore, the applicant pools are going to be flooded with people who would normally be applying to those schools early, thinking early action means they can hopefully get in somewhere early and still apply to H or P regular decision. My poinit is who knows what going to happen early at Yale this year because its going to be so crazy.

I'm keeping an eye on this thread. I have very similar GPA and Scores with the OP. I'm on Cabinet and I'm Academic Team captain plus other significant EC's so, I'm not completely dwarfed by OP.

yea i kinda see where u guys are coming from...it looks like a laundry list but there's nothing i can do about it. I quit debate club simply because I had to make room in my schedule, and I'm not really an athlete: i just played the sports to stay in shape.

And for my standouts, I'm thinkin my Class Secretary, NHS Delegate, 1600 hours employment, 450 hours community service, Passion for German (4 years + leadership + attended school there)

its a crapshoot but uve got as good a shot as anyone

haha i get that a lot

bumppppppppppp

no offense but your ECs are kinda all over the place. Some schools want kids to focus in on a few that they are commited to 110%. They see right throug the fact that you want to build your resume, and know that you're most likely not passionate about all of them. That could hurt you. But other than that you're good

i know i know but I don't know what to do, I really am pssionate about all of them! I don't waste time just to make my resume look good, I didn't even care about my resume until this year!

anyway, my burning quesiton is...is having spread out EC's so bad that I simply shouldn't include some of my activities on the resume?
