Would it hurt or help (or have no effect) to send in my app early even if i am just applying RD? I have pretty low stats for any ivy (SAT 1950 = 1330 (m+v), prob like a 93 avg taking basically all of the most challenging courses). Should I hold off until like December to send in my app so i dont compete with the ED people?
Thanks!

I have no idea what you're asking, but if you apply RD, they won't look at your app until March no matter when you send it in.

take your time with it -- the admissions office is setting aside all the RDs (in fact, it's annoying for us student workers cuz we need to keep checking at the heading to making sure it's not ED).

ED and RD do not compete in the same pool.

thanks so much
phantom- with my stats do i stand a chance? (see above)
ecs = solid and good, completed a research project for intel, excec vp of a club at my school, ap scholar with honor etc... (no natl merit though)
thanks so much

You're definitely on the low end of things. You'll really have to stand out. Was your project amazing and attention-grabbing, or was it run-of-the-mill?

well it wasnt like 'i cured cancer', but i did get some pretty amazing results. I didnt get recognition from siemens westinghouse but i have a really strong feeling one of the papers wasnt signed so i was disqualified (in addition to the fact that my referneces were all messed up), so ill see what happens with intel. I also think I have a really great essay (although who knows...). Do you have experiance with essay reading for columbia too and care to give mine a look over? (I assume you dont make the decision but maybe you have read some of the better essays). Thank you so much for your info!
