<p>Is it nessicary to send in photocopies/pictures of awards earned? My parents think its needed but I feel that the award section of the app says enough. </p>

<p>I know a good hundred people or so who have applied to colleges, and not a single one has send in pictures of awards won. Personally, I think that's tacky. The AdComs have so many files to go through that they don't need extra things to hold onto.</p>

Blitz, it is not necessary to send in that sort of detailed information. Colleges can determine if you're making things up--an admissions officer at Yale once told me that they google students who claim to win big awards or who win awards with which the officers are not familiar.
If your parents are not willing to listen to a post on an internet forum :D then call the admissions office at the college and ask them. Or email them. An official answer is always better.</p>
