sending in "extra materials" :)

I'm not sure if this is on the website butttt...

Tufts DOES let you send in extra material (like a portfolio, music, etc), right? even if it's COMPLETELY unrelated to your major if choice (i'm sending in a portfolio, but i'm thinking i might major in IR.) does this help whatsoever in the admission process? O_o

like... show another "facet" of your personality, or something :) that you're passionate about something and aren't some workaholic with no life? (no offense to anyone, haha.)

:D

oh yeah sure. I sent both slides and a recording of myself with a cellist friends playing this 17-page Brahms cello sonata, and I'm currently IR/Econ. But I can't say if it matters - I have no idea what it was that got me in.

I sent in a cd of my singing to tufts, and a separate dance cd of me tap dancing and of stuff I'd choreographed. I'm not sure if this is for next year or to get off the waitlist, but either way, it definitely cannot hurt to show another side of yourself that they can't fully see from paper.
