<p>i know they encourage this at some other ivies, but I wasn't sure if that was the case at Harvard.</p>

<p>I know with the UPENN app it is part of the application. Harvard takes the common app which does not request it. </p>

<p>I can tell you from direct observation that they throw them away.</p>
<p>The only time they'll look at a picture of you is if you submit a photography portfolio that includes self-portraits.</p>
