sending in replacement essay

okay my friend turned in his app to his colleges already but he had a sudden inspiration and wrote a much better essay. he is wondering whether or not he should send in that essay (and explain why he sent it) in order to replace the essay that he originally wrote? should he write a note that says “read this one instead” ?

do you think theyll even read the essay?
if so, would they read it as additional material? or would they replace the old essay with the new one?

also, do adcoms file all the paperwork, or are there other people/filers who do that? if the separate filers do the filing, how discriminant are they? would they throw away stuff that was mailed in late/after the deadline?

<p>the secretaries/peons do the paperwork, and they won't be reviewing apps for a while so it should be ok</p>
