Harvard accepts SAT I and II scores from the Jan. 23 date. Do I have to add Harvard to the list of colleges that I want to send my scores to before CollegeBoard posts the scores on Feb. 11th? Or could I wait until the 11th to see my scores first before sending them off to Harvard? In other words, if I send them in on Feb. 12, for example, will they get to Harvard too late to be considered for my application?

I am fairly certain that sending them directly after you view your scores is perfectly valid (if you believe that your performance properly represents your academic abilities, that is). If you already have met the bare academic requirements, you can be certain that your decision has not been finalized before early March. The only difference is that there may be a slight delay in when Harvard receives your scores simply due to the fact that you sent them later. But overall, I feel that you are exercising the proper judgment to withhold your scores until the time of release. Sending the results of unknown performances into the void can be risky. In addition, the $38 that you would save is quite trifling in relation to the weight that these scores hold.
