Sending in stuff after app

If I send in a letter detailing special circumstances, would NYU frown upon it considering it probably should've been included in the app the first time around?

I'm wondering about this as well. At an information session I went to, the speaker said if you had "overcome any hardships" to include it in your application. Where would you put that? In a note at the end (on the common app)? Or send an attachment through email or mail?

The best thing would've been to send a written letter with your letters of rec and high school transcript and what not. There was even a space to upload additional stuff on the application for mitigating circumstances. But now i would say call the office asap and find out because im sure they are alreading working on the applications.
