Sending in Supplementary forms

if weve sent in all the required components of the application, is it too late to send in additional things (like music samples, newspaper clippings) even if its past the deadline?

will it not hurt to send these optional items in? or will colleges think your irresponsible because there coming in past their regular decision deadline?

thanks dawgs.

I've recently emailed a few colleges about sending supplementary materials (for me, it's an essay on a topic in my intended major). Northwestern and Hopkins seemed enthusiastic about me sending it, but Columbia certainly wasn't (they said they'd perfer an abstact, but the whole response just seemed like it didn't matter at all). I also sent emails to Emory and Rochester, but I haven't gotten a response yet.

So, basically, I'd just email or call wherever you intend to send the music sample, and find out what they think.

Note that the dates have passed for Northwestern, Hopkins, and Columbia, so I don't think it will be a problem asking.

It won't hurt for it to come in now. Nobody will care about music samples unless you are applying to the music dept, or video recordings of your football games unless you are a recruited athlete.
