On the Dartmouth web site they say that "In order to speed the processing of your application, we ask that you submit the First Year Supplement as soon as you have decided to apply to Dartmouth". Is this a good idea for other schools as well, to send in the supplements first even before we've finished filling in the common app and received all test results?

reallyhatebumping but would like some opinions :)

I think if you do the supplement first it may help them setup a file. However, they still have to field pieces of the application that come by mail. My son’s school sent all the school paper work by mail well before he submitted his common app. When he applied, we submitted one college at a time and did all three pieces (commonapp, suplement, payment) one after another at one sitting.

I’m pretty much sending everything online, unless they require specific documents sent my email.
But I wasn’t sure, I mean, I haven’t heard of that many people doing this, sending in the supplement and then later sending the common app.lol Any of you out thereee? :)

All of the schools my son is applying to required the supplements to be filed prior to sending the Common App. For his EA schools, this meant sending the supplement moments before the Common App; but for other supplements that did not require an additional essay, he is sending them days and weeks apart (all online).
