so we dont get a login id and password to check our status? where did you hear that from that we get an email?

I read last year’s College Confidential ED posts.

I’m hating this wait! I have to turn in my Texas University app by the 1st - I really don’t want to put time into this essay (yeah, yeah, I’m REALLY lazy) and end up not needing to have done it. At the same time, I don’t want to admit that I might not get into NU. Bawww.

Perididdle, I hope for your sake that you get in…

I really hope I get in, too…

I think perhaps that checking this board obsessively is not a good thing… guilty

I just got back from visiting with family for the holiday weekend and I was constantly asked, “Where are you going next year for college?” Thus, I couldn’t stop thinking about Dec. 15.

Yea this site is actually bookmarked on my bar. X)
There is a possibility the office sends out their decision a week from this friday (11th).

Please let me join the worry circle. The non-communicative admissions process at NU is making me crazy(er).

Parididdle- Friendly advice from a fellow Texan: finish the ApplyTexas app. The NU decision is out of your control. The scholarship deadline and priority deadline for some UT honors programs is 12/1 even though the app itself is due 12/15. Even if you’re top 10% you have to do the essays. I hope we get into NU but have a back up plan.

Fordprefect - I’m actually an out of state applicant, gunning for the Radio/TV/Film program as a backup. I would be much more relaxed if I were in-state, as that 10% law would be a lot easier to deal with than this “23% of OOS applicants are accepted” business! I’ve got that 12/1 date weighing down on me for some of the priority scholarships. I actually have the rest of it done, I’m just having trouble with this last silly “what you care about” essay. My other long essay is killer, so hopefully it will outweigh the rushing I have to do on the other one.

And I agree about the lack of communication! Are they really going to just e-mail us a decision, without an interim “application status” site? That seems…odd. And nerve wracking. At least an application status page I can refresh and know exactly when the change happens. If it’s an e-mail, every time Gmail says “Inbox (1)”, I’m going to flip out. I will actually be in Chicago for a Model UN conference the weekend of the 11th, so I’m sure I’ll bug the crap out of my co-delegate asking to check my e-mail…

Wait. SO it’s not gonna be an email saying: Dear applicant, Congratulations… or Dear applicant, We have had many application…regret to inform…?

Is it really just a link?

I honestly thinks that’s how they notify you. At least that’s how they notified the Class of 2013.

Yeah, a website link with a password is probably more secure…

AHHHHHHH!!!
i’m so nervous…
honestly the one thing that i’m really worried about is my sat score…
■■■
i got 2060(M:750 R: 610 W: 700)
please tell me this is not the lowest sat score

My ACT scores are really low, it’s embarrassing to even post on here seeing as people complain with scores higher than me. I’m getting really scared now. So i’m confused. NU says we get the decision by December 15. So is there a chance we might get on the 11th? I get my e-mail on my phone and I have a feeling I’ll be checking it every second of the day for the next two weeks. This is driving me crazy…

i think the soonest we’ll hear back will be the 11th…but it may be the 14th…is it possible for them to release decisions over the weekend? rc2814, same…ill constantly be refreshing my phone haha

lucky_seven, you dont have the lowest score
M:770 CR:640 W:600 = 2010

Good luck to everyone! My friends have told me to shut up about december 15th, and my chemistry teacher is making fun of me (2 long, arduous weeks!). It’s only going to get worse for them…haha

While we’re stressing scores, I might as well weigh in with mine.

Where do you think a 32 ACT (34/35/31/26) lands on their selectivity scale?

The middle 50% range is 30-33. So ccloz, both you and I (I sent in a 32, 34/31/36/28) are in the top 50% of their standard range, if that helps. =) It might be kinda “borderline”, but not something to scoff at.

yea, I have the same score as both of you
do you think it is bad if I didn’t sent in SAT subject tests? cause I only took the act but the admissions office said that two SAT 2’s were suggested but not required

I just found out that due to some oddities with my family’s financial situation, the EFC might be a lot more than we can afford… :/

So I’ve got to really jump on some scholarships… anybody know of any hidden jewels that wouldn’t appear on FastWeb?

@Perididdle

Okay. I sent in both of my ACT scores because, although my first composite was a 31, I got a 35 in English and 10 on the essay.
