Sending in the application for Early Decision this week!!

cclolzftw- i couldn’t agree more. I just discovered this sight and i find myself checking it every 10 minutes. it makes you feel better to know you are not the only one sitting at home stressing about NU

Word. I’m usually occupied until around 6 p.m., but then it’s a near-fatal mixture of unabashed procrastination and contrived productivity until I fall asleep around 2 a.m. I actually believe College Confidential is rivaling Facebook in terms of my personal web traffic.

^hahaha… good one… I actually temporarily deactivated facebook to ward of the monster that is procrastination, but turns out this is almost as bad… haha

Don’t fight the urge. Tabbed browsing is the equivalent of procrastination growth hormone — right now, I’ve got College Confidential, Facebook, GMail, Brusheezy, and an AP Statistics quiz site (pffft) all in the same window.

HAHAHAH! I have CC, celeb twitter, ted.com, gmail, and a physics site.

Thank you for informally introducing me to Ted.com. I have just added a sixth tab.

No prob. It’s amazing

aaah my bookmarked websites are kind of sad.

College Confidential, Youtube, Common App, Facebook, Weather, My Life is Average

Man, I hope I get in. I’m so tired of dealing with this other school and their totally confusing, unnecessarily complex admissions system, plus dates that essentially trick you (Deadline: December 1. Mention on a single page that this means stuff has to BE there on December 1. Don’t tell you until after you’ve submitted your app that it /electronic submission/ can take up to 48 hours to send. And to top it off, they say I haven’t submitted my essays. Trust me, this is the most anger-inducing thing anyone could ever say to me at this moment…). I would love to get into my dream school that actually had a very kind, accommodating admissions department and process!

same… if i get in it will be THE happiest day of my life. how mmuch does b eing a legacy help?

Apparently Questbridge people know their admissions fate. So jealous…

14days (max)
10days (min)

13 hours and 48 minutes, to be exact.

13 hours? Hi everyone! I feel so two-pages-out-of-the-loop.

13 days. My bad.

Hahaha, okay :slight_smile: Has anyone tried to call the admissions office yet?

At least I know NU’s admissions office is working. Here’s a today post on another forum from a Questbridge applicant. Looks like some of the ED slots will get taken…

"So I wasn’t matched at any of my schools, but today I got this e-mail from Northwestern, maybe forty-five minutes ago. It starts like this…

Your QuestBridge application, academic credentials and letters of recommendations demonstrate your potential to make an impact at Northwestern University. We have no doubt you could thrive in our classrooms and within our student organizations. While we were not able to admit you through the QuestBridge match program, I am writing today to offer you admission to Northwestern University through either our Early Decision or Regular Decision program. Our offer assumes you will maintain your current academic success for the remainder of your senior year.

Does this mean that I’m into Northwestern for sure and I just need to decide if I want Early Decision? Or is this just a tantilizing thing?

Sorry, there’s a mess of questions…but here’s mine."

December 15 can’t come fast enough.

I sort of wish there was more documentation about the ED apps this year besides the blurb on NU Intel. Eight percent isn’t an epic increase, but I’d like to know how many spots they are filling this year with ED applicants, the average test scores, or even the number of minority applicants. It seems the Daily and NBN have been on top of this for past classes.

@cclolzftw
I totally agree…

Well i was stalking the questbridge forum (obviously for NU purposes) and there seems to be 12 spots taken via questbridge at least

@Glenny

I forgot. Are you Medill?
