my stats been posted in the above thread

I'm pretty much finished with the application, personal statement and all, and I'm probably going to read over it a few times and submit it tomorrow. My school begins next Wednesday and I plan on asking my guidance counselor for a transcript, getting my reccomendations from my teachers, all that jazz started right away. I'll most likely have my transcript, reccomendations, and my first SAT scores sent by the end of next week or so, but what if I'm retaking the SATs in October? Can I send in my first scores and all the other requirements earlier on and then send my second score when I recieve that sometime in the end of October? Will this affect my chances?

I mean I think my first SAT score is strong enough on it's own.. I'm just retaking them because I was personally expecting something in the 2200s or high 2100s.

If anyone was wondering, the breakdown was as follows:

720 Math
700 Critical Reading
620 Writing

The Writing section completely and entirely screwed my score.
So that makes a 1420 on the old scale and 2040 on the new.

Yeah on the application fill in your highest scores on the SATs to date, and when you retake them in October or so make sure you send them to RU. It will not affect your chances because you're more than likely in already.

On a side note, unless RU changed its admissions process, you do not need any recommendations.

Another thing I didn't realize before...you don't need to send your first SAT scores in if you're going to send them again in October. When you send your second scores in, they receive all your entire score sheet, which includes your first scores as well as the second.

Yeah I realized that, but isn't it also true that your application isn't ready to look at until they get your SAT scores?
I want my application ready for consideration ASAP - I will most likely end up going to RU if I get in, and the sooner I find out whether I did or not, the less I have to worry about other applications.

And I know recommendations aren't required but as I said in my other thread, I have a really strong recommendation from a teacher I've had for 3 years - he knows me very well on a personal level and can say a lot for me, so I figure it can only help.

Good question OP.

I am sending my transcripts in tomorrow first thing when I get to school. I wanna get into RU early as possible so then I can relax a little. good luck
