Being the idiot that I am, I sent in the wrong draft of my essay (like, two revisions prior to the final) to Stanford EA. My computer crashed the night before the deadline and I was panicking like mad to recover my essays. I didn't notice the draft was outdated until I checked back just now. =/

Would they do anything if I called in and told them?

i had a very similar problem - when i sent in my common app i accidentally sent in the essay that i typed for Brown university .. so the essay was really short and not too great yet i didnt really realize until a week after novermber 1st but i called them and they said they CANT replace the essay that you send with common app, however if you hurry you can fax the correct one along with a note and your common app id explaining what went wrong why and what you want your admissions officer to do.

ie. i wrote a note saying - look im retarded i sent the wrong essay please forgive me and dont pass judgement but DISREGARD the essay that i sent with the common app completely - instead please evluate me on the basis of the ssay i have along with this note...
then i faxed the new essay with that note - i also mailed them a copy of the note with the essay just in case

theres no guarantees on anything but the lady said that if you give specific instructions in your notes that are well qualified, the admissions officer will follow them (aka.. which essay to read, why etc.)

i would call them tomorrow or ASAP and ask if its too late... it might be but its worth a try
