Alright.I've taken several advanced college classes, and when I apply to MIT and Caltech (as well as other colleges) next year I was wondering if I need to send in a transcript of each class I've taken (from 2 universities). Because that will cost me $20 apiece for each college I send it to, so I'm looking at around $320 in sending those in. Or will I just need to state the classes I've taken in my application with my grades. Will colleges take my word for it?

well...i think you should send in a transcript. I did so, anyway.

but....if the cost is a burden, have your counselor write somewhere on the secondary report that you took college courses.

possibly see (i suggest calling the admissions office, if the app itself or the website isn't clear enough) if submitting just a photocopy of the transcript is fine for the application, and of course have the real thing sent to the college you enrol in? have no clue if that'll work, but it's a thought.

heh, you're applying to more places than i did.

Or will MIT just take my word for it if I write down the courses in my classes taken?

Most colleges request an official transcript for all courses taken.
