sending it now?

i know this is crazy, but would sending an update fax tomorrow be ridiculous? i applied early action and was deferred. i really don't have much to say, i won two awards, but i want to remind them i exist. i figure it can't hurt, especially because they've probably already made decisions, but now that it's so close to the 29th, i don't want them to think that i'm desperate and unprofessional. but then again, just sending it in would probably calm my nerves... another issue is that although there was a time when i could say yale was my first choice, lately i'm starting to also really like princeton -- so i don't think i could write in the letter that yale was definitely my first choice. help!

I have heard that at most of the ivy league schools that the final decisions are finished today. I dont want to sound discouraging but faxing something now is probably too late. Hopefully you will get accepted. If you are waitlisted then as soon as you receive your decision I would send them a letter telling them that your were very disappointed you were waitlisted and that it is your first choice and that you hope to be admitted from the waitlist

I think it's too late. The wisdom on CC is that you should send supplemental materials by mid-February. I think you're right that at this stage it might seem desperate and "unprofessional".

"Dear ***********,

Please fax us a letter containing this new information to 203 432 9392. Please be sure to include as much identifying information as possible including your application number, SSN, and full name so this information can be filed away correctly.

Best,

OK, I was a state winner of the Prudential Spirit of Community Award for extensive community service, and I sent an update email at very last of February. I got this email today. Should I fax the stuff tomorrow? I don't want to be "desperate and 'unprofessional'" but I don't want to look like I don't care. Was this simply a cursory email, or do they truly want it?

they probably want to see it, and/or verify it. fax it in

Trying never hurts, if you've been rejected, then it wont hurt to seem desperate. If you are accepted, then it won't matter. Let's not think about being wait listed because that would be a nightmare.

A couple of weeks ago, my son was told it wasn't too late to update and faxed the information over. At that time, we heard that the applications had not been submitted to committee yet. If the regional rep/admission's officer instructed you to send it, please do it ASAP. Best wishes.
