will they take mid term grades into consideration as if they were finals..?

bump.....I'm also wondering this. I think the later you submit the mid-term report the more weight they'll put on them.

bump...

i want to know as well

yeah i dont understand, do they have to be in by the deadline? how important are they? and do you really have to go around to every teacher with one form for each school? it seems weird. every school im applying to wants every teacher to sign one form, but of course it's their own special form. schools can be very annoying

When are you all plan to mail in your midterm form(s)? My current school had ridiculously early midterms for all but one class, which is actually going to be way after the deadline; we've had absolutely no assignments due in class, so I don't know how she could "evaluate" my current grade...

You do not need to send your mid-term report by the application deadline. Often that would be impossible.

I doubt that many schools are wedded to their own mid-term report forms (is there a form on the Common App? I don't recall). But if each school has a form, fill them all out and take them to the prof to initial - it would take a prof about 2 second to initial one form and about 20 seconds to initial 10 forms; I wouldn't worry about that.

I'm not sure anyone knows how mid-term grades are used in the application process. You might go to one of the forums here where Admissions officers post (such as Ben at MIT, AdmissionsDaniel at JHU, Dean J at UVA and ask that question). Report back here as I think others would be quite interested.

Speaking of which, when are most of you submitting/mailing in your midterm grade reports?

well my classes are a little bit easier this semester so I think I'll get better grades this semester. Since the first deadline for applications to be in for me isn't until May 1st, I'm going to send in the mid-term along with everything else around April 1st.
