Sending OFFICIAL sat scores?? is it really necessary?

I'm applying to 16 schools.
My school is sending my SAT scores to these schools:

University of Virginia
College of William and Mary
Washington U (st. Louis)
George Washington U
Johns Hopkins University
University of Maryland Baltimore county
University of Pennsylvania
Northwestern U
Rice University
Cornell University
Georgetown
U north Carolina chapel Hill
Virginia tech
New York U
Boston University
University of Michigan at ann arbor
Mcgill university (in canada)

If my school is sending the scores with my transcript .... then is it REQUIRED for me to send my scores through the college board website ($10 per school)?

Does it depend per school?

Why/why not?

If official scores are required then you will need to send official score reports from College Board. Your high school recieved a little sticker that it chooses to stick on your transcript, but it is not considered official–probably because it would be very easy to alter. Sending the offical reports is just one of the costs of the process.

One thing you can do to cut costs is list four (I think) schools to receive your scores when you take the test. Then you will only need to pay to send 12 others.

I am guessing that you are a junior in high school because of the time of year. Be sure to prioritize your applications because many of the schools you have selected have involved applications and you may grow tired of the process before you get through your list!

I only skimmed your list, but I didn’t see a school that doesn’t require an official score report.
