and also my two subject tests. I am only sending my ACT and sat2s to Dartmouth because I never took the SAT (live in an ACT dominated state). People say that the schools in the northeast tend to be more SAT oriented and would rather see an SAT score than ACT. Is this true for Dartmouth?

I dont think its a problem. Dartmouth clearly states on the site that they want either the ACT or SAT.

Good Luck!

D attends Dartmouth and only submitted ACT and SAT IIs. Same situation here -- ACT state and she never took SAT I.

Best of luck!

For admissions, you're fine, but to place out of the writing requirement requires a 770 on SAT I CR or 760 SAT I CR + 720 SAT I Writing. There is no mention of ACT equivalents. You may want to take the SAT before you go.

ClassicRockerDad's right. I should have remembered this because it's D's one complaint. (Mom hopes all her problems will be so small!)

I am taking AP composition this year. So... what I'm hearing is that even if I get a 5 on the exam it doesn't matter because they only use SAT scores to test out of the writing requirements.

It changes every year so that 1/3 of the class places out of Writing 5. No one knows yet how the 12's will be placed. But for 11's, you could only use SAT scores to place out of writing 5. For the 10's, they allowed AP English credit but you still needed a certain score on the SAT's.

anyone knows the acceptance ACT range for Dartmouth??....=)

check out the princeton review for the middle 50%
