I know that this issue has been talked a lot and a lot and a lot, but I don't seem to find exactly where it is and how I can get things done. Guys, I really need your insight for this.

I want to send out different Common Application Essays(Why transfer and Additional Info., etc) for U of Chicago and Brown University(deadline: March 1st). It's just that what I wrote for Brown does not fit for Chicago. So HOW can I exactly do this? Can anyone give me the instructions in Common App page, or quotations of what others have said about this? I would like you to refrain yourself from saying search this or search that, because I tried to search for that info., but ended in vain.

Sweeeet! So I just need to check each checkbox for school at a time, huh??
I submit the application(for school X), and erase the essays and put up new ones, and submit another application(for school Y)… am I getting it right? Thanks !!!

No. You can’t edit the application once you have submitted to a school. So you have to actually duplicate the application. then go back to my colleges in the new application and select your next college.

Once you submit an application to an institution, you will no longer be able to change the information submitted to that institution. It is possible to change the information in an application before re-submitting the application to other institutions, but there is no need to do so unless you need to correct an error. In general, the Common Application is designed to be completed once and submitted to all a student’s colleges at once or over a period of time.

This paragraph suggests that, while it is discouraged, the applicant could edit his or her application prior to sending it to other institutions. Wouldn’t it makes sense that one could “edit” the essay before resubmitting?

I haven’t submitted mine yet, but I was under the impression that I could submit the application to one school then change the essay and re-submit to other schools.
