I'm pretty sure that I read that it is ok to send part 2 in by mail after you submit part 1 on myMIT, but I was wondering how that works. The reason I would want to submit this on paper is that I feel that the word/space limits on myMIT really detract from my essays. I had essay at 116 words for the 100 words or fewer and a really good "where I am from" essay that was around 270 words, but still around half a page double spaced. If I were to send my part 2 on paper, would I have to write my essays by hand on the actual application forms, or could I print out the essays and attach them to the application?

no, please don’t

That was the case a few years ago, but now the entire app is online.

Either way, I’m very confused as to why you think it’s appropriate to use a paper application as a way to get around word limits O.o

Yes, this seems breathtakingly presumptive. The admissions office asks you to do something in a particular way and you presume that they either:
a) did not properly understand what they were asking for, or
b) were just joking around, and did not mean what they were asking for, or
c) would completely rewrite all of their procedures if only they could get a view of your deathless prose.

(a) and (b) are clearly mistaken in my view, and while (c) is technically possible, what with my having never seen this wondrous prose, it does seem to be a real long-shot, in my estimation.

well in the “application guide” mail that they sent me, it said that the ~250 word limit was a guideline and to use good judgment, I don’t really think it would have been bad judgment to have 16 extra words or a submission that takes about the same amount of time to read. I thought that because it was addressed that way in the mail I received, that there was a way to use your own judgment, and the online app didn’t allow me to do that.

So, can we send the part 2 of the app by mail or not ?

And can we write the essays by hand cause I want to show MIT that I have a good handwriting … hhahahahahha lmao :D

I have already submitted everything (online I’ll add) but I was just clarifying why I asked in the first place.

But I asked my question here, hoping for answers :)
