<p>Yes, this seems breathtakingly presumptive. The admissions office asks you to do something in a particular way and you presume that they either:
a) did not properly understand what they were asking for, or
b) were just joking around, and did not mean what they were asking for, or
c) would completely rewrite all of their procedures if only they could get a view of your deathless prose.</p>
<p>(a) and (b) are clearly mistaken in my view, and while (c) is technically possible, what with my having never seen this wondrous prose, it does seem to be a real long-shot, in my estimation.</p>
