Hi, I'm applying early to Dartmouth and I already sent them my ACT score, which was a 35 with 11 on the essay. I just got my latest SAT II scores, an 800 and a 750 in bio and spanish, which I'm happy with. If I send those, though, I also have to send my other SAT II score, a 740 on math 2, which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that a lot of my ECs and awards focus around math and I checked math under the majors I'm considering on my application, so I sort of feel like a 75th percentile score will detract from that. my SAT I was 800 M, 740 CR, 750 W, 9 on the essay...which I'm fine with except for the essay. So, since Dartmouth doesn't require SAT II scores for early apps and I already have the ACT so I don't need the SAT I, will it help me or hurt me to send these scores in? thanks a lot.

I think it won't make any difference. They look at you in your entirety, and the whole you looks pretty darn good with those scores. Remember that what you're showing them is a lot more than just scores.

I say send in your SAT scores anyway. Dartmouth only requires 2 SAT II scores and their policy is to look at your two highest scores so don't even worry about your Math 2.

you dont have to send sat 2 scores if you apply early to Dartmouth?

i'd def send them in. those are great scores, and as said before, they only look at your two highest scores. furthermore, i spoke to the admissions rep for d when he visited my school and he said that although scores are not "required" for ed, they are highly recommended. he seemed quite uneasy when i asked if you needed to send them in, as if to say "send them despite what it says!"
