I took the SAT on 11thOct2014 and the scores should be available by the 28th of this Month.
I have set this as my future test date on the common app. On the other hand i have chosen the colleges on the collegeboard site as score recepients.

Is it important to self-report your scores on the Common App?

No. You don’t have to self-report anything. The general rule is that if you’ve done well on AP tests, you can send those, but since colleges need the official score report, it would just be redundant to list them. You can if you want, but it won’t change anything.

So you mean to say it does not make a difference if my scores are mentioned in the common-application when viewed by the admissions office? Thanks.

That is correct. Regardless of what you say on your app, they still want to see official SAT/ACT score reports.

As I said before, though, most people will list AP scores here and not send official reports for those since they have little impact on admission.
