Sending SAT scores after app deadlines

Hi,
Though the question seems obvious, as a parent, I'd like to learn from anyone's experience if by sending SAT scores (in my son's case, SAT Subject) to the applying unis now (18 Feb) despite the deadlines stated to be 1 Jan 12 would be of any help at all? Would this last minute submission assist in any way, say, last deciding benchmark against other candidates of comparable qualifications? Or would this score never be included in the files in the first place?
His Subject II scores of 800 for both Math II and Physics had already been submitted and the last one just received 3 days ago also reached 800 for Chemistry. The applying unis are primarily Ivy, save Stanford, Duke, Williams and Berkeley. He is an international applicant from Southeast Asia.
Thanks in anticipation for any views.

If it were me, I would send it in as I would assume it can’t hurt. My guess is that it won’t change the outcome, as the SAT II’s that he’s already sent in are amazing, but it can help take the doubt out of the question, “What if I had sent in that chem score?”

Hopefully for that list of schools he also has strong ECs and leadership, as those schools are not looking for just kids that can hit 800 on the SAT sections.

Different unis have different policies. Ask them.
Also note some unis want all SATs and/or ACTs for class placement purposes.

SnowflakeVT: Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, totally agreed that SAT scores are nothing more than just part of the picture adcoms use to evaluate. He has a reasonable number of ECs under the British system like being voted for School Prefect and other volunteer and sport activities. Just try to figure out anything that could add value to his profile. Thanks again.
beolein: My son got 34 for ACT, but not as good on SAT I (2100+), so he decided to send only ACT (English-31,Math-36, Science-36,Reading-33). Thanks for your suggestion, which I also concur.

Stanford, Williams and Berkeley require testing to be done by December but you can try sending them anyway. All the Ives and Duke accept the Jan test scores but make sure they are sent immediately. For those, there is a different issue. Harvard and Princeton consider any SAT II scores sent but the others use the highest two if you submit more than two and thus a third 800 on top of two other 800s is not likely to have an impact but you can still send.

Thanks for your advice and I’ll do it right away.
