Sending SAT Scores Early

I am a Junior who just took the SAT. The College Board website says that I can send scores for free within so many days of registration. Since it is so early and I have not even really considered starting my application, would sending to colleges serve any purpose at this time?

Thanks!

Are these your final scores? Don’t send them if you think you can improve. Otherwise, go for it.

How do you think you did on the test? Easy? Mine thought she did ok so I went online and lurked some of the answers, I was confident and sent them to the UCs. Keep in mind that you can’t change them 7 days before the actual scores were released.

My dd is a senior but when she took the SAT last year (twice) I did not elect to send her scores until we knew for sure what colleges she was applying to.
For the amount of money you will save by sending free SAT scores, I did not think it was worth it, especially if you are planning on taking the test again.

My dd’s college advisor also told them not to send their test scores until they were done with SATs and knew what schools they would apply to.

Good luck whatever you decide.

I’m unaware of much of the college app, but why would you send in your SAT score only? don’t you send it with the full app?

^SAT scores are sent separately from the application and schools will hold on to Score Reports until the application is complete. The CB offers to send 4 free Score Reports each time you take the test, so it saves money, but one must balance this with sending the scores before they see them.

I wonder if the scores were sent Junior year, will it be there for Senior year. It’s been so long when D1 first applied to college that I honestly don’t remember anymore.

D1 had 4 Score reports sent Jan of Jr year, all schools kept them.
