So I am taking the SAT for the second time this October 1st and I am applying early action to one school with a deadline of November 1st.

I was wondering if it was necessary to rush the scores so the colleges can get them on time. I forgot to put down the colleges when I registered for the test. If I just put down the college that I want them sent to, right now, on the college board website, will that college get my scores by November 1st? Or will it be necessary to rush?

Putting down colleges when you register for the test and doing what you say you will do, go into your registration and name a college to receive scores, accomplish exactly the same thing: the college will be sent scores as soon as they are released (in fact, it will be sent to the college two days before the scores are even released to you on-line). Schools with Nov 1 app deadlines for EA or ED accept Oct SAT scores and they can arrive after app deadline although likely if you designate the college as one of your free sends it will get there before Nov 1. Rushing scores, which majority of colleges don’t want you to do, is actually a slower form of delivery than designating a college to receive the score as part of your on-line application for the test.

The October 1st sat comes out around october 20th, you’ll be fine even if you don’t include your college on the report included with the test. Also, some colleges even accept november 1st scores for Early decision/action, however some do not.
