Sending SAT scores to colleges

Hi, I'm going to ask a very ignorant question here, so please forgive me--

I just registered S for the May 7 SAT, and I am confused about how to actually send scores to colleges (when the time comes). I understand that on the collegeboard site you indicate to which colleges you want scores sent, but how do you indicate WHEN and WHICH SCORES to send?

For example, let's say S gets an 800 on the CR section but a 300 on math. We would want the 800 sent but not the 300. How does one do that?

Thanks.

you can’t send only one part. you either send all or none.
If you get 300 on math, i would NOT send it, even with the 800 CR.
After you’ve taken it, there will be a button on the report for you to send your scores.

So you either send your scores for a given test date, or you don’t, and if you have more than one test date, the schools look at the best scores for all dates (assuming you’ve sent them all)?

A lot of schools will look at the best scores across the board. A 300/800/500 and a 500/700/600 might bee seen as a 500/800/600, though they would, of course, see the other scores (but say they don’t consider them). Others consider everything.

Each school will have different policies. Some want all scores, some want the best, some will take all and only look at the best.
