So I'm taking the SAT on June 4. There is an "offer" that you can send your scores to 4 colleges for free.

When you apply to colleges in the US does college board have to send your score (and do you have to pay EXTRA for that) or do you put the score in the application?

Still a little new to this.

Also I am only in my junior year so won't it be pretty random if I send scores to colleges now?

Tanx

Firstly, you HAVE to necessarily send your SAT scores only from college board.

The free score reports are only available until BEFORE you get your SAT scores. The scores will be sent automatically, usually before you get to see your scores, so once you choose to send scores before you know them, theres no turning back.

You send scores to colleges, only after you apply to them first, which you wont be doing for at least a few months so relax…

Once the free score reports expire, you have to pay to send score reports…theres no way out.

Good Luck!

Only scores directly sent by Collegeboard are considered official.

Colleges will create a file for you when they receive the first item in your name. Since you are taking the SATs before the summer, I would recommend that you follow up with your colleges and check that they still have your scores when you are ready to apply next fall. It should be fine to send them now, but better safe than sorry.
