I took the SATs in October, got a horrible score so I registered for the Dec. 3rd SATs. The Dec. 3rd SATs got postponed until January 14 (I contacted USC and they said they will accept those delayed scores.)

Because of this, I was forced to self-report my atrocious Oct 3rd scores into the CommonApp and submit it. When I send my new scores, will those Oct. scores hinder my chance of admission?

I assume I just send them via CollegeBoard right, despite not being able to self-report the new scores into Commonapp?

Or do they only consider the ones officially sent?

My fear is that they'll review my application before my new scores come in.

Your older scores should have no affect on your application because USC does not accept score choice, meaning they expect to receive scores from all sittings. They will take your highest section scores and superscore, so that will work to everyone’s advantage.

Your new scores need to be officially sent by CollegeBoard asap, so make sure they are ordered now so USC will get them soonest possible. In addition, you should email your admissions rep with your new (self reported) scores. This will be unofficial, but hopefully will alert them you have new scores coming and to wait for them before making a decision.

To my knowledge, once the commonapp is sent to a school, you cannot add new information to it. The only way to get your new scores to USC is send them through CB and self-report by email.

Best of luck. My S2 retook SATs in Dec last year and his scores jumped in a wonderful way.
