Sending SAT Scores

I need to rush some of my SAT scores, but I just took the October test. If i rushed my scores today, would my October scores be sent in as soon as they were available as well, or do I need to do those seperately?

And can I also send scores before I send in the common app?

if you send scores before you send common app, and they get there before they receive your app, it's possible the office might lose it (because they won't have a file for you).

When you start to send scores, you will see what scores are available. They will only send those. http://www.sat.org/student/testing/sat/scores/sending.html

I've never heard of then unavailable scores being sent along later. You can always confirm with the CB folk, but my guess is that you will need two separate score reports.

You can send scores before you send your applications. People do this all the time. Colleges open a file for you when they receive anything -- scores, recommendations, whatever.

Of course, colleges can lose things, but this can occur whether you have a file or not. If your test scores don't make it into your file, you will be notified and can have them resent. This happened a couple times with my daughter with her ACT scores. ACT still had its record of having sent the scores (and when) and so resent them at no charge.

why dont you rush the otober. That will send dall your scores.. even the ones before October

So for the October test, if I list schools on that score sheet, they will all be sent?

Yes, but the scores won't be rushed. You have to pay for that.

Are you sure you need to rush them? Has a school said so? A number of schools allow November testing for ED/EA, for Pete's sake. Just call the school or schools you are concerned with and ask them. It will only take a few minutes and will save you some peace of mind -- and maybe cash.

And report back what they say, why don't you? This "do I need to rush scores" thing seems to come up a lot. People say they will ask the schools and then never tell us what the schools actually say ...
