I am so confused about the four free score reports included with my registration for the January test.
I am a junior now and the test will be my first test so should I send the scores, or should I wait and give up the four free score reports? Right now the my SAT score is not available so how can I choose what sections to be sent? Besides, say I want to apply to 10 colleges can I pick the other 6 schools later or I have to put down their names now along with the 4 free ones? Please help.

You can send scores to colleges at any time. You don’t have to do it now.

When you pay for your score reports, you can pick ANY test that you have taken in the past. The only benefit of using free score reports is to save money. College Board gives you them for free only to encourage early reporting.

If you retake the SAT and score higher, you may regret sending them so early. Each college is a separate entity, so you don’t have to send the scores from one particular test date to all colleges. Send scores to colleges by a month (or a few weeks) before the application deadlines and you’ll be fine. In other words you can worry about them in your senior year, not your junior

You can’t choose individual sections to send (CR, math, writing). You must send the entire test. Score choice allows you to pick which test to send. If you take it 3 times you can pick the higher one. That’s one reason you shouldn’t send it now – you may score higher later on

Thank you so much!
